For fifty years, it has troubled me that I had to flunk one of two twins in third grade when I was teaching. Doris simply couldn’t learn the material no matter how I taught. I taught school for several years, and have since started two pre-schools and an after school care program in Solvang.
I have raised seven children, am the proud grandmother of 16 and great grandmother of five. I have tutored a lot of children in my day. Nowadays, I do the pre and post scholastic testing on Dr. Book’s patients. I now call my house, The House of Miracles, based on all the miracles I’ve seen Dr. Books perform.
The first miracle I witnessed was with my grandson Luke, who was 14 at the time. He had flunked two grades. I know he was trying, because I spent hours and hours tutoring him. After Dr. Books worked with him, his walk went from pigeon-toed to straight, he grew _” and he could read fluently!!
I felt her work was too good to be kept a secret. I started bringing her out to California a week a month to treat patients. Once my store (Viking Men’s Shop) sold, I decided to dedicate the next ten years of my life to helping her get this work out.
