Books Neural Therapy® (BNT®) represents decades of clinical work, observation, teaching and refinement by Dr. Phyllis Books. By enrolling, you are being invited to learn this work—and to become a responsible steward of what you learn.
Please read this agreement before registering. Your acceptance is required before payment.
1. The Professional Training Path
BNT® Professional Training is progressive. Level 1 establishes the neurological foundation. Professional Levels 2 & 3 build upon that foundation and are taught together as the advanced
professional course.
Professionals may take Level 1 alongside the general Level 1 class. Enrollment in Professional Levels 2 & 3 assumes completion of the required Level 1 foundation.
2. Training Is Not Certification
Completing BNT® coursework means that you have been trained in the concepts, assessment procedures and techniques taught at the level(s) you completed. It does not mean that you have mastered every application of the work, and it does not confer a new professional license or certification.
After Level 1, you may state: “I am trained in Books Neural Therapy® Level 1.” After completing Professional Levels 2 & 3, you may state: “I have completed professional training in Books Neural Therapy® Levels 1–3 with Dr. Phyllis Books” or “I am trained in Books Neural Therapy® Levels 1–3.”
You may not use “Certified BNT® Practitioner,” “BNT® Certified Practitioner,” “BNT® Instructor,” “BNT® Trainer,” or similar designations unless separately authorized in writing.
3. Level 1 — The Neurological Foundation
Level 1 addresses foundational neurological organization, including survival patterns, retained or unintegrated primitive reflexes, memories and experiences held in the body, and other patterns that can disrupt the brain and body’s ability to organize effectively.
The Level 1 foundation is not simply a collection of techniques. It establishes the neurological groundwork upon which the advanced BNT® work is built.
4. Professional Levels 2 & 3 — Advanced Integration
Professional Level 2 builds upon Level 1 with more advanced work involving neurological organization of the head and cranial system, including patterns associated with the jaw, concussion, and coordination of neurological information between the upper and lower body.
Professional Level 3 builds upon Levels 1 and 2 and addresses higher-level patterns involving the neocortex, executive functioning, the sphenoid and more complex integration throughout the brain and body.
Because Levels 2 & 3 depend upon the foundation established in Level 1, advanced techniques should not be separated from the foundational principles, sequencing and clinical judgment upon which they were developed.
5. Using BNT® in Your Professional Practice
If you are a licensed or appropriately credentialed healthcare, therapeutic, educational or other professional, you may integrate BNT® techniques in which you have been trained into your existing work when doing so is consistent with your professional scope, applicable laws and your own competence.
BNT® training does not expand your legal scope of practice. Learning a BNT® technique does not independently authorize you to perform a procedure that your profession or jurisdiction does not otherwise permit.
When something is beyond your competence or scope, seek appropriate consultation, supervision or referral.
6. Competence Matters as Much as Completion
There is an important difference between having been taught something and having become skilled at it. A certificate of course completion documents training; it does not guarantee competence with every person, circumstance or neurological presentation.
You are expected to develop judgment through practice, observation, continued study and, when appropriate, consultation or mentoring. You are never expected to know everything. You are expected to recognize when you don’t.
7. BNT® Is a System, Not a Bag of Tricks
Individual BNT® techniques can be powerful, but Books Neural Therapy® was not developed as a collection of isolated techniques. The sequence matters. The neurological foundation matters. And the person in front of you matters.
You agree not to present an isolated technique as though it represents the entire BNT® system, or to substantially alter, rename or repackage BNT® methods and then teach or market them as your own proprietary system.
8. Consent, Respect, & Confidentiality
BNT® is not something we do to people. We listen. We test. We observe. We respect what the nervous system tells us.
You agree to obtain appropriate consent, explain what you are doing in language the person can understand, respect the person’s right to stop, and never pressure someone to continue because you believe a particular outcome “should” occur.
Information shared by classmates, clients or practice partners must be treated with appropriate confidentiality and in accordance with any professional privacy obligations that apply to you.
9. Intellectual Property & Teaching Rights
Books Neural Therapy®, BNT®, its curriculum, teaching materials, protocols, terminology, manuals, videos, illustrations and course materials are proprietary intellectual property.
Enrollment permits you to learn and appropriately use the material consistent with your training. It does not authorize you to reproduce, publish, sell, distribute, upload, share course access, record course content, create derivative training materials, or use BNT® trademarks or branding in a way that implies an unauthorized affiliation.
Being trained in BNT® does not authorize you to teach Books Neural Therapy®, conduct BNT® trainings, issue BNT® certificates, or represent yourself as a BNT® instructor or trainer. Teaching authorization must be separately granted in writing by Dr. Phyllis Books or an authorized successor of Books Neural Therapy®.
10. No Guarantees & Responsible Representation
Human beings are individual and results vary. You agree not to guarantee outcomes, overstate what BNT® can accomplish, or make medical or professional claims outside your legal scope or beyond your training and experience.
11. The Spirit of the Work
The purpose of BNT® is not to impose our idea of what someone’s brain or body should become. It is to help create conditions in which that person’s own nervous system has a better opportunity to organize, adapt and function.
Please carry the work forward with curiosity, humility, integrity, respect and care.
Participant Acknowledgment
By accepting this agreement, I acknowledge that I understand the progressive nature of BNT® Professional Training; the distinction between training, competence and certification; my responsibility to practice within my professional and legal scope; and my obligation to protect clients, participants, the integrity of the BNT® system, and its intellectual property and teaching rights.
