Kathy Balcer is a graduate of the University of Texas, with her master’s degree in education and counseling from Texas State University. She has worked in education as a special education teacher, regular education teacher, basketball coach and guidance counselor in grades K-12 for 36 years. She is passionate about educating the whole child by finding out what blocks their learning, socially and academically, and promoting their strengths. Kathy says that, “Seeing students suddenly recognize their own strengths is intoxicating!”
Julie is our online parenting expert and professional mediator. She is the former Executive Director of Brain Gym International, founder of the Nurturing Parent Center in Santa Barbara, California, and is trained in Books Neural Therapy, She is available for skype parent counseling sessions as people are adapting to new behaviors and shifts in family dynamics. Chauncey is our official greeter and our therapy dog. He sprinkles his unconditional love and support wherever and whenever needed. He also senses if you’re not a dog friendly person and will disappear until his presence is needed again.
Abby is our “Camp Counselor” and unofficial pied piper of children. She has a magic touch with little kids, and with adults. Trained early on in Girl Scouts, she has achieved Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.
She is extremely professional and knowledgeable about biofeedback, and on top of that she is a great artist and cellist.
